something wrong with camera view

hi,
something weird happened to the camera view… i duno, it used to be okay. i m making a model of a car, and the camera is supposed to look at the car (of course). but i have problem getting into the “correct” camera view… when i press Numpad 0 (thats camera view right?), it just shows the inside of the car [see screenshot]. and there is a little dotted line grey box, that moves around when i pan the screen with ctrl+alt+LMB … i can see the camera icon in the top/left/front/etc views though… the only problem is with looking through the camera… i cannot get it to work.

i tried to delete the camera and set up a new one… it still doesn’t work.
I attached a screendump and the blender file, hope to receive some quick help on this. thanks!

note: the screendump, does not have a camera because i deleted it when taking screendump of blender. the .blend file is also without a camera (i think)…i think i forgot to add back the camera.

i realised i cannot upload .blend files here. blend file can be obtained from this address:

thank you very much!

cause of the fact, that I see no other camera, i suppose, that the cam is in the car, so it just shows what is inside^^

And or you have accidently made part of the inside of the car as the active camera.

Add new camera, with it selected puch Control + 0 to make the new camera the active default camera.

yea i initially thought maybe theres a camera inside… search high and low… theres none. haha.

ok i did this and it works now.
control+Numpad0 turns the selected thing into the active camera?? so maybe i somehow press control numpad0 when editing the car…
i must be more careful next time…

thanks! problem solved.

Also your camera may have been on a hidden layer - so you couldn’t see it!
