SpaceNavigator Doesn't Work in Blender (No Tilt, Pan) - Any Fixes?

I just bought a 3dConnexion Spacenavigator, but tilt and pan don’t work in Blender.

Are there any addons or fixes that’ll make it work?

Alternatively, are there any 3D mice/devices that are known to work with Blender?

I’m using it just fine.

Check your user preferences, input section. Mine looks like this:

At the list on the right go to 3DView > 3D View (Global) and search for NDOF. I had to change mine to be able to pan and orbit at the same time. Shift and Control squares should be checked like in this screenshot:

I hope it works.

Cheers.

Thank you VERY much, Tella!

I copied your settings, and now I get the most beautiful and smooth movements in all directions! It’s truly amazing and mindblowing!

There’s only one little thing I don’t understand: When I zoom far away from an object, it becomes almost impossible to zoom in again using the Spacenavigator - and it becomes completely impossible to zoom back using the mouse, almost like everything gets more or less stuck for some reason.

But again, these settings is a real revelation, so thank you very much once again.

Glad it worked!

Behold the power of the right button of the Navigator to center your selection on screen. Also left button works to adjust sensitivity, working axes and so. Use Blender’s panel, not 3DConnexion’s (I don’t think it works, in fact I think Blender doesn’t use 3DConnexion software) Maybe you have to hit left button several times to make it appear instead of 3dConnexion’s panel.

Thank you for the right button hint, also! This thing is really a game changer. These smooth movements, yummi!

I guess I need to scan this forum more often…
