During this day I’ve been working on a simple space ship. It’s very low-poly with only 30k faces (I could probably turn down the subsurf one level without losing any detail whatsoever which would bring it to about 9k faces).
The background is also proccedually generated, using nodes on the background.

if you show a wireframe I might be able to give you some advice on how to trim down your poly count.
