Just silly idea, couple months ago when I look on hi end speakers I get idea about… eco-friendly design. Speakers made of wood waste, rough pieces of wood combined with hi-fi tech. Wood models are from Megascan. Rendered in Octane for Blender.
Good idea, but technically mdf is something like recycling(so using MDF isn’t too waste I guess). But chemicals used in proccess. Hi-fi designs are obsessed with materials, sound-design (inside of speaker box) and quality of speakers. (probably you already know these things but I’m just chatting)
So, with a quality full-range spaker I think it is possible to make something like this that sounds good. I think just needs good sealing and porting then it can work very well.
Not silly, If you ask me. Cheaper to produce, looks good. And if it sounds good, awesome.

More or less this is just 3D joke. Imagine that you use some rough piece of wood, without polishing, varnish, machining and put some speakers in it. Theoretically this will work… wooden box is wooden box, fancy processing will not affect sound so much… I think.
In reality this can look interesting in some rustic interiors.
PS. This is ‘sequel’. render this in C4D because Octane corrupt file, for some reason. But you can get idea.
