Specific rigging question. How do I make this rig?

Found this on Instagram a while back. Would such a chain rig in Blender be possible? Please see the video attached.

From the picture, I’d make a chain of bones like that using spline IK. But I can’t tell what they’re supposed to be doing-- there’s no animation-- so I can’t tell you what the rig is supposed to do. And I don’t do Instagram, so if there’s an animation there, I haven’t seen it.

How would I animate so that it bends and twirls like it does in the video?

You are talking about a whole different subject…I would start a New question thread to get more responses and not highjack this one…
But quick answer is…manually move parts and add keyframes…or you can import BVH or FBX animations and apply them to the base rig…
