Speedflow [$] - Modeling Addon

It’s not really a modal, maybe on another addon

New video on the bevel modal !

Looks great! will probably buy soon.
What more things do you plan to add into Modals Pie? do you have any plans for adding lattice and make the workflow smoother for lattice?

We will add other modals yes, lattice could be nice, I would like a bend/twist for example where you can directly choose the axis you want.

Well, the function has more to do with the shrink wrap than modelling anything. Like using the lattice tool. So I’m not sure why you would think it’s a mesh editing function when it relies entirely on the shrink wrap.

And thanks for making a video on bevelling! Looking forward to really using this addon.

Since not everyones are fan of pie menus, you have now the choice ^^

What’s new in the 0.0.7 of the Modals pie menu addon ?

As you can see in the video the Modals Pie Menu allows you to choose simple menu or pie menu.

You can also add a panel if you want.

On the tubify we added the possibility to use profiles

And we finished the subdiv mode for the bevel modal.

You can manage the bevel weight as simple as possible and make great assets in no time !

Like I said in the video, the name of the addon is not really great, so we will change it.

Don’t hesitate to tell us if you have some ideas.

For now the best name we have is Modals Modeling Tools (MMT).

A really nice new feature for the modals pie menu !

For a name, what about “Modality Gears”?

Also I was wondering if can be possible use different profile shapes in the same curve (different sections with different shapes).
For example, if I want make a sort of tentacle, or a pipe that change in diameter (like Oil pipes).

Thanks for the tip!
And about tubify? Can’t have different profiles on the same curve?

For tubify it’s not possible because it’s not a modifier, it’s just a modal with automatic setup for curves.

The mirror modal !

Nice addon. Few suggestions:

  • when making array, it would be cool if empty would be set to array ‘object offset’ if empty is selected. I addition array offset should be set to 0 when doing ‘object offset’. I is nice setup for eg. radial array (eg, use empty rotated 45deg, with 8 array count to get cirlce)
  • imo default tubify should have less U resolution, because it is first thing to change.
  • if possible add ‘shift’ key modifier for fine adjustment of values slider. (edit: cool to see it already implemented)
  • not sure what I’m doing wrong but if I start ‘adjust bevel’ in edit mode on one loop it works ok. But then If I select second loop/edges I can’t edit bevel depth with ‘adjust bevel’ (no modal operator seems to be executed - no gui stuff is visible)
  • also why don’t you use middle mouse scroll event for some modifications (eg. array count, bevel edges count etc).

Can you make a gif or a little video to show us how do you proceed for the bevel ?

We don’t have circular options for the array for now, but later yes.

The U resolution of the tubify is the resolution of the curve, but Yes we can reduce that number

How about using mouse scroll for adjusting some variables?
Anway my steps:

Now I realized that I have to press W to make it work, but imo it should be not necessary and it is bit confusing.

We will see for the scroll, but not every peoples uses mouse to work.

For the bevel weight most of the time you want to keep the same size, in subdiv and no subdiv, so it’s the best setup.
I you want to edit some bevels you can easily with W.
Or use W directly, it’s just a key.
