A rework of a small coffee table design I made last year. I reworked the topology so it could be UV unwrapped, redid the texturing and also modelled a context scene. I find it interesting going back to these old models and seeing the mistakes I made.
I was inspired by various images of courtyards in Tunisia I had seen, as well as a B&B I once stayed in when visiting Stellenbosch (South Africa). And some inspiration from my own garden back in Scotland (I had a lot of glazed terracotta pots!).
This scene was literally the limit of what I can process on my PC - topped out at 22GB loaded into memory (displacement…). There were some other little details I wanted to add, but oh well. Although rendering itself was not too bad - about 20mins per image (context scenes), 2048 samples and all light bounces set to 12.
