I fixed most of my texturing problems thanks to help in the forums. It’s now time to turn my attention to other work so I gave up on creating a nice environment for it and made a video “fly-around” that shows only the model.
It’s rendered in Blender Internal using version 2.46RC1:
Incredibly well detailed model. I can just imagine that wheel turning, spinning virtual straw into virtual gold. Very, very nice. Perhaps someday you’ll create a room that needs a spinning wheel in it, and you’ll dust it off and bring it out again.
I spent too many hours trying to animate that thing and had no luck.
It seemed easy at first. Obviously it doesn’t take much to spin the wheel and the crankshaft. The hard part was that vertical bar (footman) that connects the crankshaft to the foot treadle. I could use constraints to make to the top of it follow the crankshaft OR have the bottom of it point toward the connection to the treadle. I couldn’t figure out how to make both ends be attached to these two different moving points at once.
Does anybody have any advice on how they would approach animating this?
