Spitfire Mk.V(B) BL384

My latest personal project! A 3D model of BL 384 Spitfire Mk V(b)

In February 1942, BL384 was assigned for F/Lt John Gibson, a pilot from New Zealand. Gibson decided to adorn his new Spitfire with his personal emblem, Donald Duck, along with symbols representing his confirmed aerial victories, which totaled 13.5 at that time.

Assets used (Sketchfab):
Pilot (by Claus the Modeller), watch tower (by SeF), electricity pole (by Helindu), and millitary jeep (by SilkevdSmissen)

Outstanding work!

Impressive level of detail

Excellent modeling and texturing!

My only critique would be to pull back a little on the strength of the bump map. I think the rivets are a little too pronounced.

Thanks guys!

Makes me wish I knew how to 3D model :slightly_frowning_face:

I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!

You’re on the featured row! :+1:

Thanks bart!

Fairly accurate - nice one :+1:

Fun fact, if not for Miss Shilling’s orifice the “Spit” would not have turned out too be an iconic war winning weapon.

Gorgeous Spitfire model
Love the hangar shadows on fuselage, very evocative scene

The lighting in the final scene is quite stunning!

Good Afternoon, Please would you be kind enough to give me some details of
John Gibson’s spitfire. I understand he flew hurricanes during the war.
I have only recently learned that he was my half-brother so any information you have would be amazing. And the question I ask everyone is do you know the name of his dog?

Good job. Good detail!
