Here is my standing up animation that I have been working on for the last 2 weeks. I learnt a lot of new things to add to my next animation.
I’m not actually a good animator but here are my two cents: The animation looks fluid and pretty natural to me, especially the breating at the beginning. But I can’t figure out in what situation clive is… Did he accidentally fall asleep and just woke up? Or is he just tired? He stands up pretty fast for being tired, but the strong bending in the middle kinda gives the feeling of a tired/sad character… Since I don’t know what your intention was, I can’t really tell what doesn’t feel right to me…
PS: I’m not sure if I express myself understandable, if not just ask or ignore
I really liked it, very fluid and neat
It look great until the very ending.
He needs more follow through after standing up.
To due this I would have him stand up a little higher and then sink down into a more relaxed standing slouch.
So he stands up over extends himself and then sinks to his final resting pose.
To add even more motion his arms could move out from his body and sink down again in rythem with stand up then slouch motion.
Good luck
@Habauk Clive is tired and sits down for a rest but someone calls out for him. H gets frustrated as he stands up. When he finishes standing up he has a questioning look on his face. I realized that the ending was very fast and strange. So i went into Blender again and fixed it. I think it looks much better now. It’ll be uploaded in an hour or 2. Thanks for the critique.
@VoxelHound Thanks man. Glad you like it!
@mickeyjoe I thought about that too. I’ll have the edited animation uploaded soon. Thanks for the tips.
Very Nice Nathan! it’s been cool to watch your skills as an animator increase over the past year.
Thanks Webhead. I was looking at my first ever dialogue animation and it was awful At the time I thought it was the best thing ever, but, now I feel like I’ve improved quite a lot.
Here is the absolute Final animation. No more changes for this one.
Yes, much better now! Keep it up
And here is the progression.
Very cool Nathan, your getting quite good:) Practice makes perfect, or at least really good. Seems like you’re on your way:) Keep it up man!
Thanks Derek. I’m just about to start my next animation. Just figuring out what to do. Any suggestions?
A really cocky walk ending in him tripping on a curb or something would be fun. Almost like strutting as if we should all be lucky to be in his presents. Then complete embarrassment after tripping:)
Great Idea. I’ll start it as soon as possible. Thanks
Great to see this one finished! Great job, man!
Thanks. Glad you like it
