Above is the most recent render. I’ve put a lot of effort into the materials and finishing UV unwrapping lately. I still need to finish modeling the hangar bay (I haven’t done any renders of the hangar bay yet).
This is a model of the Venator class Star Destroyer from Star Wars that I have been working on for the past couple of months. I think I’m getting close to being done with the modeling part of this project, but every time I look at references I see more detail I need to add.
I plan to have a completed model at the end of this with textures, materials, and rigged for the various hangar doors to open and close.
wow that’s fantastic, I love it! Lots of details!
Are you thinking of making an animation or will it be for an image?
I am a beginner, I will also share a work in progress on star wars.
See you soon.
Very nice modeling. You have a great eye for details – as did the movie’s designers. When a ship is going to do a very-close flyby to the camera, “the more details, the merrier.” You can never have too much of them.
Just about done adding details… except for the interior of the hangars… and some more bridge details… and some more details in the engine section (like where the engines attach to the back of the ship, which may be visible under different lighting conditions).
I started working on UV unwrapping and materials for this model. I haven’t finished all the modeling, but I want my renders to look more interesting as I continue work on this project.
Very nice. I’m also working on a similar type of ship, and after a few attempts at making the thruster flames I broke down and bought some pre-crafted thruster jet type flames.
