Stargate - Ships of the Line

Long time reader, first time poster.

I mostly slave on scifi-meshes, mainly because before I worked in C4d. But once I migrated to Blender, be it now over two/three years I decided to keep to as least as possible forums. Partly because I’m lazy to post everywhere

Either Way, I hope that posting here will get me motivated to finish this fleet.

Note. Scale on the fleet picture relates to a “human 2m tall” green tick that might be visible, not what is seen in the show

The Ha’tak, Tel’tak, Death Glider, F302, Promethous and Deadalus were started in C4d, but are being reworked in Blender. The ship between Deadauls and Ha’tak is for a Virtual Stargate Series. Destiny Class. Its the main ship i’m currently working on. Lots to do, just hope to have the will to do it.

Looks very promising, please keep us updated.

They all look absolutely fantastic, especially the Ori battlecruiser! I’m doing a Stargate game mod for Battle for Middle-Earth II, would you like to be a lo-poly ship modeler? The units I would need would be a Tel’tak, Death Glider, Al’kesh, and a U.A.V.

[Edit] Where exactly is the little 2m human green tick in the image?

Very nice models. Had to look carefully for the little Tel’tak though!

Could we see a larger version of the Tel’tak? I’m going to start making one sometime for a Stargate game I’m currently making.
Do you have blueprints of it (or the Ha’tak)? I haven’t found any decent ones so far.

Anyways, great work! Look forward to seeing this progress.

Very nice. The H’Ori battleship looks fantastic, so does the Prometheus. The Aurora class too, damn. Where on Earth did you find the reference material for this stuff??
Nicely done.

Wow those are insane!! and isnt it just Ori? (not H’Ori?)

Yep. Blame spell check for that gem

Looks good. What’s the huge one one the left in the group shot? It looks like an Earth ship but I must have missed that episode.

I believe it is an Ancient battlecruiser like the Orion or Aurora in the Pegasus galaxy.

Thanks for the comments.

Here is another update on the fleet.

Aurora

  • the weapon mount
  • some details on the front

Ha’tak

  • redid the outer hull with more details

BC303

  • tweaked it a tad, and added some front detail (not much)

Ori

  • added the engine glow… needs improvement http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/images/smilies/Wink_anim.gif

Onslaught (virtual tv series)

  • just added it for reference against the other other ships

And as a request, larger view of the Tel’tak (done in C4D) will export and rework in the near future)

With regards to mods. Originaly I started all these ships for a FarCry Stargate mod I was working on with a few other guys, then got a nice MGM Layer Cease and Desist letter. After which i kind of put it a side.

All these models will be released, some are allready available on scifi-meshes website (bc303, bc304, hatak, death glider) However they are in C4d + OBJ format.

The fleet picture on the left is in Blender, so that is the current status, as soon as i get any of them done to a point of release, I’ll update the scifi-meshes mesh section.

And yes, Teltak has the inside completed
There is also the BC303 bridge completed in C4d available there, so if you want to play with exporting it to Blender, feel free

More to come soon

Oh my … amazing job

That sucks, sorry about your mod. The weird thing is I actually e-mailed MGM licensing to see if it would be ok to make my mod, but they never replied. You’d think they would if they cared.

I just downloaded your deathglider. I won’t be able to use it directly because it is too hi-poly for what I need, but it will be a very helpful guide for me when I model a new one. I also downloaded your serpent guard and used one of the lower poly helmets after some tweaking. Thanks. I have a hi-poly gate model on SFM you can download if you like.

Dang you could definitely make some kick ass animations with all those ships!!

Good luck with the Death Glider Lord of the Rings Junkie. Just out of curiosity, how low polygon did you need the mesh to be?

As for the kick ass animations, Borgleader, that was the second purpose for these meshes. Most of them are Mid poly meshes. Dedalus is ~10k, Promethous ~9k. Aurora ~11k. Overall main target is to be under 10 per ship. Only organic ships like the Ori will really bend that barrier (currently sits at around 23k) with optimizations i might be able to get it lower.

Also these ships will be perfect for background ships.

Very, very nice…

Under 2,000 tris. The game I’m making it for is an RTS. Obviously you don’t have to if you don’t want to, but I could still use the skills of a talented modeler like you for a lot of stuff. Here’s an AO render of my jaffa model with your serpent helmet. The body is EA’s game model, everything else sans helmet is mine.

That low. Well good luck. As for the helmet, its still on the list of redo’s.

One thing missing is for the front nose to open up verticly. But I’m guessing that you are not going to open or close the helmet? If so, the this should be sufficient.

Otherwise you’d be waiting a long long time for me to update it

Niiiice!! Well then good luck with it

Nope, no opening or closing will be going on. I’m thinking of having the helmet as a heavy armor upgrade.

Ahh, very nice. I didnt expect you to have done the inside as well.
What did you use as reference? Just views from the show? I think that would have to be the only way for the Tel’tak.
