Some work in progress. Lots of little things I need to work on but it’s at a good point for sharing and for comments.
This is using basic cycles shading, nothing fancy. No UVs (yet?). It has some obvious flaws but working on them.
It doesn’t really feel “steampunk”, although the definition of steampunk seems to vary a lot nowadays. Steampunk usually has a color pallet restricted to brown/gold/black/white instead of the bright vibrant colors you have and has a more rusted worn down kind of feel to it instead of the shininess in your picture. Not that originality is bad or anything, but calling it steampunk seems a bit incorrect. If anything, it’s more of a blend of sci-fi with some steampunk elements because of the shiny polished texture and the smooth shapes and forms. Still looks pretty good.
