In this video, I created a fun animation of Steve dancing in front of the camera from Minecraft.
The goal of this small project was to practice character animation and experiment with motion capture workflows inside Blender.
To start the animation, I used a motion capture animation generated with
Mixamo
. Instead of directly using the imported animation, I extracted an empty armature and then rebuilt the animation again by following the movement of the animated skeleton. This technique is useful for understanding how character rigs move and for recreating animations manually while keeping the original motion as a reference. ![]()
During the process, I worked on adjusting the armature, aligning the bones, and recreating the motion step by step so that the final animation matches the reference movement. This approach helps improve animation skills and gives better control over the character rig.
This project is part of my experiments with 3D animation, rigging, and game-style characters, especially characters from Minecraft. If you enjoy Blender animations, Minecraft fan animations, and learning different animation techniques, this video is for you! ![]()
