Sticky fluid / water issue. How to free from round surface. Image included.

I have a bottle that I am trying to show water pouring over and splashing. But no matter what I do the water tends to stick in certain spots and not roll off. I have tried this in a number of different ways, subsurfacing the bottle, increased facial density, nothing seems to resolve the problem.

I ended up downloading a .blend file from Mike Pan (http://mikepan.com/files.php) which was really elegant, but I also noticed same thing was happening with his too. Long story short, I replaced his tube with my bottle to see what would happen. Same problem. Ugh.

Notice how on the upper side of the bottle, there is a lot of water pooling up, not natural at all. It should roll off. I also included a link to an mp4 so you can see the animation.

You will see how the water just sticks to the upper side of the bottle. Also, notice along the vertices the water is sticking. This only happens on upper half or so. Rest of the water rolls off fine.

Here is the famous da_rain.blend file for you to play with.

I know what you mean, about the fluid sim, however. One thing to keep in mind is that it is no 100% accurate. Use the fluid simn to “Fake” an effect, not simulate an effect and you will be a happier person.

I tweaked some of the settings and here is what you may want to try.

!).Time range. The default of 0.05 to 0.2 seconds is a very small time for fluid to react so extend that into a real time range.
2.) I set the obstacles to Free and set the slip to 0.1. This may cause the fluid to slide off the object quicker.

Overall, you can spend hours tweaking settings and not getting what you want. I know I have.
