Still Life

Hi all. This is my latest project. The slices of bread are from an old Andrew Price tutorial , everything else was modeled by me and the textures are from cgtextures. I did some minor adjustments in photoshop. C&C welcome, hope you like it :slight_smile:

looks awesome, I don’t know what you were going for and it might be very well left this way, but in my opinion a stronger lighting would help, or add some saturation, the bread looks very grey, and the grapes could add much more color, also they look a little like they are floating in the air ;
That being said, textures and modelling are great!
I’m curious what kind of shader you used for the wine, it looks really good

Thanks for your comment, you made some good points, I’ll try to fix them, especially the grapes. The concept isn’t my idea, I used this image as reference .

The wine material is just a glass shader with volume absorption, using a “pinkish” color for both.

I’m am working on a similar scene, and I was wondering how you did the grape vine. I couldn’t figure out a way to do it.

Good scene, I don´t know how to do it but the red wine can be better, if We see the reference image, We could see that the wine leaves a mark on the cup, another thing that I could tell You is that the texture on the board is too compressed at the sides and You can adjust the value of saturation of color for each object because them look diferent now, but that is just what I think.

I think you did a very good job, although in both the original and your render, the lighting is quite flat and dull. If I were to suggest anything I’d say add some more dramatic lighting.

Nice little scene worth completing. Experiment with subsurface scattering on cheese and bread, and improve the glass.

Thanks all for your suggestions, I’m still learning and your advice is really helpful.

I created the grape stem using the skin modifier to make the base and simple box modeling to tweak it.

Thank you so much! I’ve been banging my head trying to figure that out. :slight_smile:
