Sting

Trying to do some more texturing exercises, I decided to recreate Fordo’s sword in “Lord of the Rings”.

Modeled and textured in Blender 2.81, rendered in Cycles. Post production in Affinity Photo.

Thanks. The node trees get big over time, but they are actually not super complex. It’s really just several layers of patterns, textures and masks that are then mixed together to create the color, roughness and bump maps. The hard part is really figuring out what the individual building blocks are and how strongly they influence the material.
