Stochastic Transparency with Eevee and White Noise in 2.81

White noise is a very powerful node - you can do proper blur effects, or in this case ‘stochastic transparency’ - in other words - set the material to alpha clip and approximate the transparency with white noise and a ‘IF’ math node… Advantage is that it sorts always right and maybe even looks a bit better (respects shadows and such)

Hey this looks nifty.

This post inspired me to experiment with white noise. I managed to make a texture/vector blur node in cycles. Thanks for this.
