Stone Turtle

This turtle is based off of a stone turtle that I have sitting on my desk. I created the mesh in blender and exported it to sculptris for sculpting. I imported it back into blender for rendering and compositing. I rendered it with cycles in blender 2.65.

It looks pretty good but it doesn`t looks like stone that much.
And you also got some weird areas like on the wood.

I was going for a marble type material. I might redo the material now that cycles supports SSS.

It looks good. has its own style. It doesn’t look much like stone that I exoected but still it’s fine

It looks like you need to give the wood a white glossy color. Adding SSS would significantly improve the realism of this image. The modeling, subtle texturing of the turtle, lighting, and bump mapping on the wood are all great.
