Stop particles from overlaping

Hi there. I need an even distribution of particles (stone slabs) and I need them to not overlap. Ideally, the would have a set offset between each other. The distribution should be random.
I don’t care if the solution is a particle hair system or a geometry node tree.
The only condition is that the final emitted objects do not intersect with each other.
Any ideas?

Scale down with the Transform Pivot Point (Top middle of 3d window) set to individual once the placement is done - to add the gap between them…
