Strange parent/child double transform when keying

Well I do that in 3,2… but I get that bug. Will download 3.3 and reset all configuration and test again.

I just tried in 3.2 and it works fine.

In Aaron_Schmidt1s video it seems clear that the problem lies with blender not setting a keyframe on the correct frame but somewhere else. You can tell by the colors of the Location and Rotation swatches when he sets the keyframes.

But this does not happen for me on Windows and never has as far as I am aware.

I only do the screen recording on the Mac… I do the animation work on Windows, so not an OS thing.
Most be some be some kind of add-on or setting that cause it. Any idea ?

How do you parent? With the option “keep transformation” or with some other option?

Do you have “Visual Keying” turned on in the preferences?
Preferences → Animation → Keyframes → Visual Keying?

I downloaded your test file from the other thread and if I turn on “Visual Keying” the jumping starts to happen.

Hah, just read that, after finding out on my own.
Yeah that was the problem!
Damn, I do not even know why this is was active. Maybe its a bug in the Mac config, that had that turned on? Not sure, but under animation all 5 check marks where set. While some are useful, I have no idea what visual keying means… never read about it.

Test it on MacOS and Windows… 2.8 till 3.4… all working correct with this settings turned off.

Whit Blender I sometimes feel like I have to relearn 3d, after 25 years… crazy.
