Stretch Animation Keyframes / Animation Speed

Hi there,

unfortunately, I fell into the trap and relied on animation speed in the viewport and did not realize that it run with around 6-7 frames per second. That means, animation speed looked good in viewport but after rendering to movie file, it turned out that the animation is way to fast.

Is there any proper way to deal with that except pushing all keyfremes manually by hand?

I am a bit afraid to do so, as there are a ton of keyframes in my project. This also would not be very fault proof… :frowning:

Thanks guys.

Well, if you select all the keyframes at once you can SCALE the animation as you need. You don’t need to move each keyframe by hand.

In the 3d scene, select all the objects from the animation then go to your timeline editor and press A to select all the keyframes. Be sure that the viewer marker is on frame 1 then still in the timeline editor, press S to scale the animation.

Do this in a copy of your file if you are afraid of losing your work.

This is amazing. Thank you very much, you saved my life  .

Also recognized, that scaling depends on the position of the marker in the timeline.
The marker works kind of like the anchor point, from where you can “push keyframes away” or “pull them” towards the marker (like the median point when scaling objects).

Only selected keyframes will be scaled (“moved”) so this is a very handy function in Blender and that is exactly what I needed.

Yes. I am glad I could help.

Thank you for this thread. However, it only partially works for me. Selection with key-A seems to miss some dope sheet items which will not move when scaling. Are there any preconditions to make sure that EVERY relevant dot in the dope sheet is selected?

2nd: Markers are not selected. How can I make sure that changes in active camera will be scaled in time as well. Checking the box “sync markers” in dope sheet > markers does not work for me.
