Stuck on a dragon model

First things first, I’m not asking anyone to just do all the work for me, I’m actually just asking for tips on how to approach things.

So I have a dragon I’m modeling and I’m running into an issue with it’s “mouth” I dunno what you call that. A snout?

Anyway, this is what I’ve got

And after I subdivide it, I get this

If you want to see it yourself, here’s the mouth model.

For the life of me, I just can’t see how I’m supposed to reto-pologize this properly. I can tell it’s because I did things wrong, I just don’t see how to do it well enough and finding tutorials to do it myself hasn’t helped out either. Does anyone have any tips?

I don’t know if this hurts or helps, but hopefully it helps.

Solved it!
With your help, thanks

So I still had this issue right? It would make the mouth look odd.

and here’s where the vertices were

What I did was move the vertices inside the mouth closer to the ones outside

Now things look smooth again. Lesson learned, don’t stretch vertices around bends.
