Stylize Tree

I’m currently doing a stylize tree, I have results so far but I’m not satisfied. I wonder how to achieve this kind of tree leaf shading in blender only. All the tutorials I watched do their shading in Unreal or other game engines and it looks nice.

My version:

The tree I’m trying to achieve in blender:

It’s really hard to achieve the shading and the particles. Anyone know a good tutorial to achieve it only in blender?

The internet is full of Ghibli-like shader tutorials :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: and buying offers…

I already browsed YouTube, yeah, there are thousands of Ghibli tutorial but not close as the style of the reference. Maybe I’ll try to watch some and study how they make their shader.

There’s often not a tutorial that matches exactly every reference, with a guided tour of every step. Learn various techniques and approaches, and you’ll start finding how to combine them to create what you’re after.

In your particular case above, part of your issue is just the shape and basic tree structure. Your reference doesn’t look like a pine tree, and what you’ve made does.

I think the video below is similar.
Appropriate adjustments are needed for the style you want.

This is a different post.

I think the video and twitter post you provided is somewhat close to what I want to achieve. Thanks! I’ll try to watch the video.
