Hello, everyone! Upon viewing Nita’s awesome short animation (http://www.blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?290500-HoLy-sHiP) and seeing the beautifully rendered and animated tree (it was all well done, but the tree especially intrigued me), I decided to attempt to recreate it on my own.
Here’s my result; a stylized alien plant of sorts, done entirely in Blender (rendered in Cycles). Tell me what you think!

Well, it’s not much to comment about to be honest. Imo the leaves could do with a more vibrant color and some sss. Overall it seems decent.
Nice. I’d say you achieved exactly what you set out to do.
Leave the colors alone, not every plant has to be bright green. Great job on this plant, what do you plan to do with it?

Exanimis, I’m planning on incorporating it into a short film of mine :yes: I may upload this plant to BlendSwap later, too.
do you mind showing how you rigged this? The animation is very smooth.
Well, it looks like I’ll actually be able to do a tutorial or two on this (the whole plant, not just the rig)! So I’ll be working on that this week, and I’ll also upload the .blend file for download.
