Hello there!
After few tries of sculpting I finally am somewhat happy with overall shape of it. It’s practice of working with 2d reference. So far only sculpting and I see couple of smaller mistakes. I also want to keep this thread as something of journal as I keep learning.(if it is allowed)
Looking for constructive criticism, maybe someone will notice what escapes my eyes for now.

Eyes are bit off, smile and tail proportions are little bit off.(also bottom fin before the tail needs some adjusting). Need to finish inside of mouth(details with teeth. Overall I think I nailed overall shape and proportions. The “mood” of original artwork is close in my opinion, it would be good when I fix eyes and eyebrows.
What You think? Is there something I am missing, something to fix and focus on?

Over 10 hours of work later, I think I got somewhat of an idea of retopology
Feels like I’m going too much in detail on it, still, quite happy with overall flow of it so far(and given it’s my second time doing it, first was a disaster)

Done. It’s finally done. After many, many hours later I am quite happy with final retopology. Now on to UV unwrapping and texturing

Okey, this is taking waaay longer than I expected. Learning a lot in the process, it is great, of course, but there is so much information, I don’t have enough time for it all 
Trying out Ucupaint addon, however, as amazing as this tool is, I will move on without it.
On to texture painting:
I’m quite happy with color pallette, looks quite nice. Can not decide where should be main line between two main colors of it. While front looks somewhat interesting mid and back part is boring

Some more messing around with final design, to do list: fix fake caustics, fix wierd AO(shadows), refine details, add more background

Played around with background and lightning.
Really like color pallete on it. Now to make final changes on body and take care of eyes
