A little subdivision surface modeling exercise that began from a CRNT Designs tutorial. I took it a little further and textured it in Substance Painter. No idea what it does, but it looks cool.

Looking good. For clarification - this is an exercise in sub-division surface? Or did you use sub-surface scattering in the material?
