how to avoid, only one a small region, texture distortion from subsurf?

When you UV unwrap enable the ‘Use Subsurf Modifier’ in the unwrap options
Add additional edge loops to reduce stretching
Thanks for some reason with this I need to use Blender 2.49. Is this also for 2.49? Haven’t found it yet.
How to fix that region? The worst in Blender is the unwrap, I’d call it broken.
It’s not broken. It’s pretty hard to see what you’re trying to do when you’re not posting blends or screenshots of the unwrap (your UV layout), your seams, and using a distorted checker grid instead of the default UV grid.
