Summer Color!

Really amazing! I’ve never seen anything like this done in Blender. It’s super neat!

This is so lovely! It’s so well done it’s hard to tell it’s 3d. Love the colours too. Would love to see more games and animations rendered with this kind of style.

Did u populates the tree above a sphere with particles or manually?

I placed most of the planes one by one because I wanted to reach a realistic handpainted style, a particle system would have been too much random, at least with my knowledge of particles

This really needs to be put into The Gallery, right away. It is an excellent rendition of this particular drawing style, using 3D.

It’s already in the gallery  Note that we replaced the old ‘Gallery’ forum with a dynamic one of all the featured works (link at the top of every page).

Wow… nice indeed!!! Looking at this I wonder… would it be possible to have certain settings in Blender that creates the illusion of cartoon-style. F.e. I look at the shadows on the grass of the 2 kids. They are not realistic at all, and not even intended to be realistic, because is a cartoon. So it’s kind of the opposite: creating unrealism in Blender on purpose… in order to create a special atmosphere… just wondering :-). Compliments btw… I love this.

Wow what a cool style and nice scene!!
PS for those curious for the original, hope the OP doesnt mind. I think he did a stunning job.
I hope you did write Zoe and showed this to her. Wondering what her/his reaction was or would be.

Curious how he mimicked that exact same style

PS it would be nice if you environment or background was on a sphere. That way when rotating the scene it would follow you every where. Now it brakes the look a bit. Im still stunned how this looks. First that it was a static image, what already is cool. this Sketchfab is ven cooler

There’s actually a whole community devoted to NON-physically based rendering and materials. They get caught up in anime a lot but something exactly like this would qualify. You can get a lot of cool techniques and tips and tricks.

Thanks… I didn’t know, but of course… there are a lot of cartoonists around  and Blender is a great tool for them too.
