So, I’m making a simple scene of a room. I havn’t finished planning the room at all, but there’s one aspect of light I’ve been having trouble with: sunlight. If anyone can give tips on which light source to use, great. I would like the light to shine through a square window and have the light diffuse on the floor. The problem I have is it won’t diffuse, it remains a straight square. I would also like to make it a column of light with dust floating around, would that involve particles? I have some expirience with particles, but if I can just have that beam of light to the floor, that’d be nice.
I’ll post a picture later, I’m at school right now and I cannot attatch any files. If anyone has a tutorial on what I’m looking for, or just some light settings, I could use the help!
If you’re not using Indigo, you should try it. It does a great job of calculating diffuse light throughout a room without any need for fill lights. Use the Blendigo exporter to export your scene from Blender.
Here’s a rough draft of my living room with the sunlight as the only light source.
