Exactly, this is perfect timing!
Three days ago, I had an issueâmy son downloaded the âTrueDepthâ addon without my consent, and on top of that, he wonât even use it. A common problem, you might say!
So, I sent a message to the Superhive team that very same day, on May 18. They replied and asked me to wait 72 hours before contacting the addonâs creator, âLewis Martin,â directly.
I did just that, and here is the creatorâs response:
Hi, Iâm not sure how to issue refunds. But itâs a tough one because if a refund is issued, youâll still keep the addonâŚ
What? Complicated??
I then decided to send another email to Superhive:
I was quite surprised by this response. Unless Iâm mistaken, thereâs no clause in the contract specifying this. In the past, I have been refunded for an unwanted addon purchase, and there were no issues with the refund process.
All addons sold, regardless of the refund situation, seem to have the same problem.
I donât know what to thinkâwhat do you think?
Best regards,
To this day, neither Superhive nor the creator has responded!
I am questioning the refund policy, regardless of the situation, and apparently, some creators manage these âissuesâ as they see fit while Superhive seems to turn a blind eye, probably considering the 900 downloads of this addon!?
I am not here to undermine or criticize anyone, so can you see what might be wrong?
I thank you in advance, @bartv Bart, even if there is nothing you can do.
Best regards.
Easily. Parenting habits and/or childâs access to credit cards and billing accounts.
Bart doesnât work for Superhive and is not affiliated with them.
If you son is buying things with your money that you donât want him to buy, thatâs more of a âyouâ problem than a âSuperhiveâ problem. Refunds on Superhive are for when an add-on doesnât work, creators arenât obligated to give them. You donât have a reason for a refund
I seeâŚ
Yours trulyâŚ
Well, technically I am affiliated with them through their referral program
Iâll make sure they see this thread, thatâs about all I can do.
I always fee that rules are there to be interpreted according to the occasion. As a company you should always ask yourself if the bit of cash is worth more than having a happy customer. Iâve always found itâs better to be lenient in such cases - at least thatâs my philosopjy.
Creators have absolutely no control over refunds. The only thing we can do is notify Superhive (Blendermarket) and ask them to handle it.
