Surface friction?

I’m making a marble madness style game. I’m using a simple motion actuator (force) for the movement. the physics for most of the movement works, but the rotation of the ball doesn’t work the way I would like it to. it slips and slides a little bit as if on ice. it’s like a bowling ball being rolled down a bowling alley. it takes a few moments for the rotation of the ball to catch up with the surface.

I know that I could come up with a complicated algorithm in python that would do what I want, but that would take me HOURS of work (I’m a little rusty). is there something I could do to give the surfaces some more friction?

Under Properties -> Materials -> Physics there is a friction setting. Note that you need to be in Blender Game mode to see it.

I didn’t think to look in material settings. Thank you!
