This survey is now closed, you can read about the results here:
I’m going to preface this with: I don’t know if this is permitted here. I’m guessing it is since off-topic is made for off-topic things, but if forms like this aren’t permitted, let me know and I’ll remove the topic.
I’m trying to find the answer to “how much does the average person know about space and astronomy?”
So, I’m conducting a survey to find out. The form consists of just 30 true-or-false questions and should take less than 5 minutes to complete.
You don’t need to know anything about astronomy to participate! The key here is to get as many respondents as possible so we can get a more accurate “average”.
I’d greatly appreciate your participation, and if possible, please share the survey with others so we can reach as many respondents as possible!
I also posted this on my YouTube channel but, because I do science and space related things, most of my audience likes space and thus knows more about space. So they’re not really a good base for “average.” Hence why I’m posting this here to hopefully get some less astronomy-inclined respondents. The form is hosted on Google Forms and doesn’t record any private information such as emails or IP addresses (at least for me, who knows what Google does with your info LOL).
Ummmm… I can try but there’s nothing to identify you really well. If I know your age bracket and highest education I might be able to find which one was you.
Yeah… I’m trying to find some other places where I might be able to share the form without getting flagged as spam or something.
I figure Blender artists might be a bit nerdy but the more respondents, the better. Blender artists are “part of the average” even if they aren’t themselves “average” I guess is what I’m trying to say.
I’m gonna blur this in case anyone reads this before doing the survey. All but one of the questions is false. I was initially going to evenly distribute (ish) them but then realized that everyone expects that some will be false and some true. So if someone is going through and putting “false” on all the questions they’re more likely to rethink their answers, which would hopefully result in more accurate answers. No idea if that actually works that way though.
Well… I don’t know which submission is yours LOL
I’d need some of your answers to the personal questions (age bracket is probably the best assuming your not in the widely populated 18-21 bracket).
I’ll also probably write up an article eventually on the results, which you could compare your submissions to.
No, I can’t see emails. The age bracket worked though.
You get a really good score of 28/30 (almost 29/30 but you had one wrong and one “I don’t know”).
