I been working with blender a year now, so finally started my project as i feel
i got the basics of using blender down so here it goes.
Its a survival horror game, i have script i`m working on with a friend and concepts
for game. It will be like resident evil with mechanics similar to resident evil 4 and 3.
The game will be around puzzles and finding materials rather than actions, there will
be action too as the infected will try to kill you obviously.
Game will be GLSL with bump maps/spec maps, i do not have a high end computer
so i cant play with shaders...it lags too much, i can play with lights though... I would like the aiming to be like resident evil 4, however im still learning to control
ik within the game…Maybe you can help me ??
So far this what i have…
• Basic map setup, walls/floors/stairs/doors. Moved by number or CTRL on axis
• Character box with 3rd person camera *with collision resident evil 4 style, with no clipping
• Character wip with logic bricks and weapon control
• Health system HUD
• Key System to open doors with HUD
These are a few screenshots of how far i have come, i only started this a week ago…
the fps are low because of shadows/shader etc were all on, i normaly get 30 fps with
lights on.
the environment looks pretty good, but I think you could bump up how many polys your character is, particularly the head. Also I think you might want to have another look at the hands. Keep it up though this looks very interesting.
Cheers, thats what im trying to do is focus on environment and atmosphere too
Yeah the character needs alot of work, i need somebody to help me design him as i`m
not too good with it to be fair
ALL [finished] survival horror games as of late claim to know what they’re doing but don’t. There’s only 1 definition in my book and we haven’t seen it in a long time.
Please let me know what you guys think so far, also what would
you like implemented. If any body knows how to re4 weapon aim
it would be alot of help, i have tried with ik to planes with no luck
