Suzy (with a Z)

Hi, all! Meet Suzy, the protagonist of my short film “Suzy (with a Z)”.

Can you spot every Easter Egg?

I’m making the film alone and it’s a celebration of all things 3D animated. My biggest inspirations for it are The Matrix, the short film “Animation General” and Blender itself.

I’ll be sharing more details more often from now on.

PS: Full name (?): Suzanne Cubette Van Blender

Well ! I don’t know if your movie will explain those ears.
But that is an audacious choice.

I’d say it’s a reference to the monkey primitive shape in Blender (which shares more or less the same name as the character depicted here). My guess.

Yes. It is obvious to Blender users.
But monkey ears on an human-like character, that will probably disturb a wider audience.
She already has weird eyebrows.

Default Cube on the shirt, Node Sockets on the shoes, logo as hairstyle…
Those are a lot more subtle.

Maybe it’s related to an ability that pays off in the story. Then it’d be fine. Wouldn’t it?

Anyway, to me it’s a nice and appealing character, overall.

Her hair tied behind her head with Andrew Price’s donut. :grinning: Nice one!

I agree! I wanted to make a bold choice regarding some facial feature of hers, and ended up choosing the ears, which led to her becoming this sort of “Blender avatar”, lol.

I see her ears being so big just an stylized choice, like how some characters have really big eyes, nose, etc. (not 3d, but for example, characters from Phineas & Ferb have these exaggerated features and we kind of take it as common).

Anyways, thanks for noticing and mentioning the other easter eggs, you are the first one to do so

PS: also, who said my short was intended for a wider audience?
