Swordtember 2022 - 30 swords in 30 days!

Heya, I’m Kay!

The past couple of years I’ve participated in an art challenge called Swordtember, where you create a sword (based on a theme) a day for the whole of September.

I decided to take on this challenge in our beloved Blender, most (if not all) are rendered in EEVEE. Check out the full 30 swords below, let me know which one’s your favourite and if you spot any references! ( there’s a few…:eyes:)

Obviously there are mistakes and I reused a few bits here and there, and ofcourse they could be improved… but the challenge for me was to create something every day and I’m happy I succeeded  On average these took me 2-3 hours each, I freelance full-time so finding the time inbetween wasn’t always easy.

I’ve done this again in 2023, will post those soon too! (will update this with a link)

I’ll participate again this year, starting September 1st. You can follow along on my socials below, and I’ll post the full 30 days on here again after I’m done.

If you did all this in 30 days, then you have way too much imagination and skill! Every single one of these is “entirely different, and incredible.” This must be featured, as a basic beginning …

I bet your models 3D printed would be amazing!

Oh thank you! It was a challenge for sure, more like a marathon than a sprint. There are a few similarities between some of them (I reused some of the handles and materials to save some time), and ofcourse it’s all dumped into (a copy of) the same render scene so I just have to change the background and lighting a little.

Hah yeah that would be fun, although there’s a lot of intricate parts, not sure how well those would print :grimacing:

I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!
