Tank tracks physics animation

Hello everyone hope you are doing fine!!

So I wanted to ask if there is any tutorial in which i can make tank tracks rigging with physics animation and i cant seem to find videos that help in that, i’ve found two tutorials but they’re from older versions of blender so i was hoping if someone could help in that aspect .

what i’am hoping for : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blZdtFmQoo4
and this is the boring tutorial : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5fjslhomsI

Hey, I’m going to prepare new version of this tutorial soon for Blender 2.8X, so stay tuned!

I don’t think Bullet has changed much so it should be possible to follow the tutorial quite easily.

So finally, after many trails and errors I was able to make a dynamic track animation and I think its pretty good ,but after some while the hull started to act weird … as you can see in this video [blender frames dropped because i was screen recording, and i also tried to upload the video but it was too large so here’s a link that will stay active for 2 week only http://www.mediafire.com/file/ds9v3dounosgiuu/2020-06-08_02-22-07.mkv/file ] the hull is calculated in the animations but the moment i stop the animation it goes back to its original place and it repeats the same process -play animation its there, stop animation its back-

The only way to fix this problem is to unparent anything parented to the hull, unparent the hull itself, and remove the rigid body physics and then readd them manually one by one “without parenting anything to the hull”

This started to happen probably when i parented an object to the hull

Any suggestions that can help fix this problem anything is appreciated. The moment i fix something, something else emerges that needs to be fixed its probably my lack in understanding blender.
