Tank treads not rotating correctly using constraints child of

Hello forum.

I’m following a tutorial, I’m certain I have not missed anything, but I’m getting a different result from the tutor when I try rotate my tank treads on Z rotation. can someone please have a look at my blender file and see what I have incorrect?

From the coments on the tutorial, it seems this doesn’t work in the current version of Blender.

Anyway, this entire tutorial seems based on some rather weird uses of constraints and will be useless in any case except the most basic scenes.

Yea, the whole thing barely holds together… I’m afraid that person has little idea what they are doing. If you need tire tracks that don’t fall apart, rig them with an armature
