Tardis wood texture

Hi, I’m Trying to make a tardis from doctor who in blender but I can’t obtain a good wood texture. This is what I got so far, any suggestion is appreciated

Actually that does look really good so far! Few things: It looks too light and washed out. Try darkening the blue diffuse colour and making it slightly more “uniform”, instead of the lightblue-darkblue gradient you have now. It’s hard to tell though; I’d like to see it in different lighting conditions. I think the you should lower the glossy roughness and increase the strength of your normal; the tardis is surprisingly shiny for a wooden box. Finally, to really sell it you’ll need to paint scratches, chips and dirt onto your texture; the Tardis is always super worn and rough looking. Hope some of that helps?

EDIT: I’ve taken a closer look at some reference photos and I’ve apparently been misremembering what the Tardis looks like because dang if it’s woodgrain isn’t all but invisible. Take a look (http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/the-hunger-games-users/images/4/41/Tardis-david-tennant-doctor-who-tenth-doctor-HD-Wallpapers.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130908192008). It’s there but it’s by far the least prominent element of the Tardis’s surface material. So ignore my previous statements. The grain needs to be thinner, and most importantly, less uniform: the grain is more visible on certain parts than others. You could try blending the grain part with a cloudy noise, but I do think you’ll need an actual painted out texture map to get it looking proper. Thin the grain you have, then start painting on top of it.

Hi thank you for your response I’m trying some changes based on yours suggestions
