Damn, looks so realistic.
Can I ask what materials did you use: some custom material assets? Substance Painter? or some next level skill?
Hi kimzauto.
All materials are made by cycles.
Which material are you interested in?
Here a screenshot of one…
Would you be willing, to export the materials in a separate blender file, especially that red. Unfortunately I can’t see the screenshot that well. Regards Kim
For the bodywork material you can follow this thread, you will find everything there.
I have no problem saving you the material, when I come back I’ll do it.
Thanks, I will go thru it.
if it is an aircraft gonna need more wing surface or a hell of a lot of thrust. must not be jet powered I see no air intake. either way Magogg it is a very cool design and beautiful renders very inspirational. curious about the design ideas that went into it. if you have time.
there is an animation?
Hi Ken, I will talk to the anime designers!
The design concept is not of my realization.
The model is taken from the Japanese anime Last Exile.
I’ve always liked the vehicle, a perfect combination of retro style, steampunk references in a very elegant style. In the WIP that I have opened here on the forum you can find some references from which I took inspiration.
For the animation … Not yet, even if I’m preparing the file.
I would like to try switching to Blender 2.80 and doing it with eevee.
In this period I am overworked and I have many deliveries, so for now the idea remains.
Stunning model, why the huge render sizes?
For my personal pleasure …
To enjoy every little detail! (and error …)
hahah okay allowed
That first render is nice, but its kind of hard to proper look at the model which such immens and busy surrounding
Anime doesn’t worry about trivial things like the laws of physics.
thank you for schooling me on this gmboots. cheers had a good laugh at myself.
I had to look it up myself, after I got curious.
I still can’t help thinking that even though these things don’t fly in the usual (realistic) sense, they would still benefit from a bit of thought put into aerodynamics if they’re hitting speeds around 380 knots. A bit of drag reduction should get speed around 500 knots with no increase in power output. The original design must have the drag coefficient of a brick.
wow… i’m impressed… that looks amazing!
Tnx a lot Egan!
Wow, really good material!
One of the best projects i’ve seem here in a while, i’ve got some Star Wars racings feelings from it, haha, really good!
But as some pointed out, it would be nice to see some signs of use in the painting and the metals, the staircase looks really rusty and old, the environment of the first image also looks kinda old and rust and them in the other images the painting is in perfect state, might look pleasant to the eye, but it breaks the mood.
Overall great wok!
Tnx for your feedback Ghaell!!
For me is extremely important to know other opinion, this give me the possibility to look with different eyes my works and to understand how and what I can improve, change and learn!
Tnx!!
The story I made up is that it’s just back from an extended trip, got a full tune-up and new paint job.
