Tenpin Bowling (Animation)

I’ve loved bowling since I was a kid, so it was inevitable that I’d make this sort of animation. I was very rusty with physics simulation and hadn’t ever used rigging before, so it was great fun to play around with these two features. Physics simulation is always enjoyable to work with because anything can happen and introducing an element of randomness or chaos to a simple scene can really bring it to life.

I haven’t worked with rigging/bones before (other than with armatures from Mixamo), but I particularly liked using this in the scene for the sweep wagon to clear the deadwood. It’s a very basic rig, but I see this as a first step in some new learning that I’ll almost certainly continue to look at in future projects.
