Testing loading slider

Discourse is experimenting with a ‘loading slider’ to replace the current ‘spinner’ between page transitions. Imho it’s a less jarring experience, and it feels a little faster too (that’s purely psychological though). What do you think?

Looks better, sleeker. Rotating Suzanne was superior, of course…

I like it!

Hi Bart,

I like it also. It’s less obtrusive and quite standard as I see this on many sites and even some Android Apps like the Google calendar. We’ll assume Suzanne is in the front of the line pulling the data trough for us.

I have disabled the slider as it often messed up gallery pages for me. I’ll test again after next week’s Discourse update.

The main difference is that with “spinner” , imo, it loads the “spinner” anim first and then comes the proper content and this is not only a feeling. It is better now as it is not disruptive and is less distracting than “spinner”.
