Text object - can't enter ë character

Hello, I have a text object where I want to enter an ASCII character,
ë - which is ALT 137 in Windows

Tried many different ways and still can’t. pasting from a text file
E, ALT BACKSPACE "
ALT 137
Hopefully this is a simple answer.
I know I could make 2 dots, but trying to get it from a char.

Hi,

Im using Blender2.55 and found no problem typing accented fonts. Maybe the specific letter you need wont be there because of your O.S. keyboard config… check the sample images. Could not find the ë in French keyboard config… in Spanish keyboard conf you find this accent: ¨ with SHIFT+[ which is the touch to the right of P in my keyboard.

Thank you, it worked, changed my keyboard to French,
type Shift+[ (1st key right of P), e
