Texture appears bent or 'creased' + remove angular stretch?

Hello all,

I’ve got a simple model that I wanted to texture. I marked seams, unwrapped, removed unecessarry stuff and applied a texture image.

On one side, the texture looks fine.

On the other, it appears bent and warped, and I’ve got no idea what causes it. (See image)


Also, on the UV editor on the left you can see there’s some angular stretch here and there.
How do I minimize or remove this?

Finally, the face next to the selected one(the one the cursor is hovering over), which is above the textured side in 3D view, has a weird black streak across it. What causes this & how do I fix it?

You can see stretching indicated in your UV editor window

By unwrapping better.

No blend file supplied in the post !! How do we check your model unwrap ? Please supply neccessary files (ensure pack any textures in blend file using File / External Data menu)
