I’m trying to get my character into Unity for use in VRChat. I only know how to transfer textures by baking them into images and then dragging them into a new unity material.
Anyway, I’ve tried several times to bake my textures but they never line up with the original texture.
Hello, maybe make sure that you’re using the good UV map?
Also make sure that the UV map that receives the bake is correct (no overlapping faces).
If it’s not the problem please share your file so that we can test
This may sound picky but textures are images… so i’m not sure what you really want to archieve… especially because you said you know ?? I guess converting a multipart character with differrent UVs… into one single UVmapped object…
( and there are dozen of export to unity -tutorials out there )
So… if you elaborate your doing… maybe someone can detect the error…
This should be the packed files, if anything is missing sing out! But thank you so much for your help! I am only going to keep it up for 7 days because I don’t want everyone to have it if that makes sense, not that it’s that high quality haha but again thank you so much!
Hello, do you have the character with her original textures? I only see black and white clothes.
If you want to bake her materials, make sure that you’ve put the same Image Texture into each of her materials and that they are selected, plug a UV Map node into them if you use another UV map for this texture, then set the parameters (Bake Type > Diffuse, disable Direct and Indirect) bake, and the image should receive the bake
This is totally weird… so you have already baked something… but for example the Body.002_color.png seems to be a UV-map (also in you shown shader setup: after the UV-map ther is a normalnode missing… anyway) … the material uses the Joined UVmap (same name as the material… okay… but don’t get confused )…
So if you wnna use this now (i dont; know why… you hav eto bake this at all in such weird UVmap… again… anyway) so you have to assign th material `joined’ to all faces… but for the face objedct ther is no UVmpa ‘Joined’ ( i copied one which seesm to be okay… a named it… but the)
After this you also may have to delete the old material so on export… the correct ones are exported only…
I really don’t undertand why you are doing this in this ways… it seems to be that you just did something what someone said to you… ??
(Also weird… while centering the shaders from time to time there are only a texture node shown. ?? no shader output at all… maybe because of the identical naming… ?? )
The clothing is meant to be black and white but with a toon-style texture that broke at some stage. But here are the original textures: https://workupload.com/archive/2WvJvPpS (the brackets should help you find what material they belong to).
But I have tried making sure that there is an image node with the same image selected. This is first connected to a UV node all of which should be set to the joined UV. For whatever reason when I bake this it comes out black (I set the baking type to Deffuse, disabled lighting, etc. So I tried using a few plugins to bake the texture for me to no avail.
Does any of that makes sense, that you and everyone else for your help so far!
EDIT: I did try backing the files so its weird that they weren’t all included sorry!
I’m so sorry I’ll be 100% honest 90% of that went over my head I’m not very smart if you can’t tell haha.
Anyway, what I’m trying to do is combine all my textures and material into one big atles, so like I think you said I already have the skin and face baked as textures but the shirt, pants, shoes and hair are all just materials.
I’m sure you already knew that but after taking this model into unity all the textures are gone and as blender materials don’t work in unity as I’m sure you would know I need to bake them. I’ve tired of following along with multiple tutorials but my bakes would either come out as black or when using a plugin they would come out wrong and I think that’s why Body.002_colour.png is wrong. Maybe the initial question I asked was the wrong one and I asked have asked how to stop my texture bakes from coming out just black but I thought I had found a way around that by using plugins.
I hope that made sense and didn’t sound undermining, you know what you’re doing a lot more than me and I really appreciate all the help!
You have 4 scenes and almost every object also duplicated for times…
You tried or you are tired of… anyway… this is just a big mess… and it is very difficult to help if we have to tidy everythin up first…
So i suggest you do watch some more tutorials closely so that you understand this… And then if you have a specific question… this could be by far easier to answer…
