unless i’ve missed something or didn’t filter for the right search term, i’m completely baffled that this is not an active topic (found just two entries from 2021)
in Texture Paint, when you zoom in or out the brush size changes - why is a fixed brush size not a feature, and why is it only available as a seven dollar addon (or a free one from a guy in China from 2021 that doesn’t deploy in v5.0) - we spend our lives zooming in and out modelling, sketching, painting etc
how is it that the Grease Pencil size doesn’t change on zoom but the Texture Brush one does - it’s frustrating as hell because every zoom changes the brush size making life harder than it needs to be - surely someone else shares my frustration…
Texture paint uses a projection system with a brush defined in screen space. This limitation is being lifted currently with development around a 3d brush.
I believe a long time ago it did - that was how we had stuff where the artist seemed to continue zooming onward to reveal more details.
I like the View size brush in Texpaint but the option for Scene size is coming as @Hadriscus mentioned, and it looks to work like a charm already. Kinda liek the old Taco Bell commercial, I want both
Presumably soon, likely not next release given what can be seen on the meeting notes (wip blur brush implementation) but it doesn’t seem too far-fetched that it could land in 5.4 maybe? don’t believe anything I say, I’m just guessing
thanks once again - without getting too bogged down or wasting your time, could you perhaps elaborate briefly on what is meant by the texture space “us(ing) a projection system with a brush defined in screen space”, and how that differs from the brushes in Grease Pencil
