Texture / Lighting - Problem with imported Part

I everybody!
I just got started using Blender, because i have to do an animation of a machine for university.
As the machine is drawn in Pro engineer, i have to import the parts one-by-one to Blender. So far no problem.
now the problem: The parts are made of aluminium and i would like to use the texture i found here:

The result is shown here:

It seems to have to do with the use of the surface’s tanget vectors…switching the use of them off, everything looks pretty grey, but solid. But i just spend a few days with Blender, so i have no idea.

How can get Blender to make it look nice?
