Hello,
I have been trying to make a playing card with one image on the front side and one on the back side, with UV Faces. The playing card is e.g. the jack of clubs.
I made a 2 sided card with extra vertices for the rounded corners
At one point 1 side is ok and when I start working on the other side everything is meshed up. When everything looks fine in the 3D screen and I make a render, I get the same picture on both sides or the picture is not stretched over the selected faces (one complete side of the card).
Hope that someone can tell me what I am doing wrong
right, when You Uv mapped the card, you had 2 faces, one for back, one for front, you needed to have the pictures that you wanted on either face to be combined together so when you are UV mapping it, you could ensure that one face, had one image, and the other the other image. Does that make sense?
Hi,
See the screenshot of one of the corners of the card. Down left in the screenshot I pasted the two gif images that I want to use. One for the front side and the other for the back side of the card.
Hopefuly I make myself clear …
or if your still struggling, post the blend so one of us can sort it out for you. And if someone is nice enough, they can do a screen capture while they sort it out…
Indeed; I am still struggling. Just added a downloadpage to my site. This is the link http://www.helencommandeur.nl/Blender.php
In the UV/image editor the dotted lines already show that something is wrong.
Thanks for all the help
I have redone the modelling and the UV mapping using different textures (as I forgot to unpack the blend. file) The mesh you gave me seemes a bit complicated for what you wanted doing, I used a plane which I gave 2 edgeloops in vertical and 2 in horrizontal and then subsurfed to get rounded edge. Then uv mapped with images from; http://www.madore.org/~david/misc/cards.html
and the other image is that of my own which you can use if you want too.
For some reason if you render the side which has the king on then it renders my picture and vice-versa but thats just an irritation really, maybe someone else can sort that out for you.
