Texture Space manipulation in Blender 2.5

well i trested your sample file and it is working nicely for shift T

but if i make one then it does not work?

is there a place where i can check out if the keys are appropriate ?

but why it works with your file and not mine very strange?

There must be a setting you use? Did you try to append the object from my file to yours? this way you can check if it’s a file setting or an object setting (though I can’t imagine what)
…actually I realize the file I posted was the one from you, using that same cube. So it’s a mystery

later edit:
I found the shift+T in the input panel in user preferences. It is in a list called View 3d move modal though I’m not sure what this means :slight_smile: but maybe it helps

Weird :slight_smile: I opened the file and both objects have the texture space active, shiftT works on both and I can’t see any difference between them

and i cannot select the cube on the right and see the texture box but the texture space is click in object panel and shif T is not working on that cube ir even the first one!
but i can turn off the teture space dotted line in the object panel

by the way i’m on vista 32 bits

Don’t think is a bug, your version of Blender doesen’t have the key mapped the same. here it is larger:
File looks the same un my screen. You can see the texture space as a dotted line on the second box too.

It seems your build doesen’t have that key, would suggest you upgrade :slight_smile: I have the same problem with the pan/rotate setting. Actually in Blender 2.49 I went for almost a year at first complaining and not knowing how to change it :stuck_out_tongue: I have it mentioned here, hope it helps: http://blendermama.com/pan-and-rotate-view-setting-in-blender-2-5.html

ok so it means i have to redo my set up again!

i’ll do it on next built i download but now it seems it will automatically copy the Start file from one version to the other!
so i have to erase it i guess and loose all my files references!

anyway don’t really have a choice i guess!

one question, if you play around with the texture-space settings:
What bothers me is the glsl-view of the flat/cube texture-mapping

  • it is far away from the rendered one. The orientation of
    the mapped texture is only similar for some faces - other
    faces are mirrored or show not enough to get an idea
    of the rendered view.
    Question2: Is one use of scaling the texture-space to have
    the same texture scaling if one use a scaled down object?
    Say the object is scaled down to half the original size
    but the texture (like a wood-texture) should stay the same…

and now the shift t is working ok

now how do i get back the pan rotate change in viewport ?

i know it is in the outliner RNA
but cannot find where i had this note!

and is there a start up file now

pan = move view but I don’t know how you usually set them. I have the pan on middle mouse button and rotate view with MMB+shift

got the 2 first RNA var for rotate and move

MMB as pan and rotate as Shift MMB

but which one do i change ?
