Texture Splines?

Hi, i’m new to Blender. I’ve been using some tutorials and i’m very slowly starting to get the hang of the basics, But anyway, what i was wondering is if there is anyway to make texture splines (thats what i think they’re called)

like this?

I think what ur looking for is UV mapping in blender, correct me if im wrong.
this is probably the most in depth of the mapping tutes ive seen if your new.

or in 2.5 there is a stencil painting, so you can paint faces

no not quite, thanks so much though.

its my fault i didn’t explain it clearly. You see how the texture of the bricks curves around the door way? i want to make a straight texture follow a curve. Can you do that in Blender?
